We’ve seen plenty of players trading fists during hockey games.
But what happened last night in the Austrian league was surely something unique.
European ice surfaces may be large, but sometimes they aren’t big enough to contain two heated players.
In what looked to be a normal interview during a contest between HC Bolzano and Medvescak Zagreb, two players decided that what happened on the ice needed addressing.
Fist fight – in the mixed zone
Tom Zanoski looked to be ready to start his interview when he got into an altercation with Chris DeSousa. Clearly, tempers were flaring but we rarely see a fight happen off-ice.
We’ll have to wait and see if either player will be disciplined for the off-ice incident. But what a fight!
