Vegas Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights are a professional hockey team based in Paradise, Nevada, USA. Founded in 2017 as an expansion team, they play their home games at T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip and compete in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference in the NHL. After reaching the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season but losing to the Washington Capitals, they won their first Stanley Cup in 2023.

Vegas Golden Knights History

Las Vegas hosted the first outdoor game between two NHL teams in 1991, and by 2009, discussions about bringing an NHL team to Nevada had begun. In 2016, the league approved an expansion franchise for Las Vegas, with the Golden Knights becoming the NHL’s first expansion team since 2000. The Golden Knights saw immediate success, reaching the Stanley Cup Final in their first season. In 2023, they returned to the Final and defeated the Florida Panthers in five games to capture their first Stanley Cup.

Vegas Golden Knights Retired Numbers

The Golden Knights have not retired any numbers to honor former players. However, on March 31, 2018, they officially retired the number 58 to honor the 58 victims of the October 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas.
