The Seattle Kraken are a professional hockey team based in Seattle, USA. Founded in 2021, they play their home games at Climate Pledge Arena and compete in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference in the NHL. They made history in 2023 by upsetting the Colorado Avalanche in their inaugural playoff series.
Seattle Kraken History
On April 30, 2021, the Seattle Kraken officially became the 32nd NHL team. They finished last in the Pacific Division in their first-ever NHL season, but their sophomore season was much more successful. They made the playoffs and became the first team in NHL history to win their inaugural playoff series against a defending Stanley Cup champion, upsetting the Colorado Avalanche. They lost to the Dallas Stars in the second round, and the following year, they failed to make the playoffs.
