Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers are a professional hockey team founded in 1967. They play their home games at the Wells Fargo Center and compete in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference in the NHL. The Flyers have won two Stanley Cups in franchise history, securing back-to-back championships in 1974 and 1975.

Philadelphia Flyers History

The Philadelphia Flyers were part of the 1967 NHL expansion, along with the California Seals, LA Kings, Minnesota North Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, and St. Louis Blues. Although the Original Six teams retained most of the league’s star players and top talent, the Flyers quickly found success. After adopting a more aggressive playing style, they became known as the "Broad Street Bullies." In the 1970s, they won two Stanley Cup championships, becoming the first expansion team after the Original Six era to win a Stanley Cup.
