New York Rangers

The New York Rangers are a professional hockey team based in New York City, USA. Founded in 1926 as one of the "Original Six" teams of the NHL, they are playing their home games at the Madison Square Garden and currently compete in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. They have won four Stanley Cups in franchise history, and they are famously known as the team where Wayne Gretzky finished his career.

New York Rangers History

In 1926, Georges Lewis "Tex" Rickard, president of Madison Square Garden, was awarded an NHL franchise. In their second season in the NHL, the Rangers won their first Stanley Cup, and in 1940, they won their third. The Rangers won their fourth and most recent championship in 1994, led by Mark Messier.
