The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York, competing in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the NHL. The team has played its home games at KeyBank Center since 1996. They currently hold the longest active playoff drought in all professional North American sports, with 13 seasons without a postseason appearance.

Buffalo Sabres History

The Sabres were founded in 1970 and joined the NHL along with the Vancouver Canucks as part of the league’s expansion to 14 teams. The Sabres have yet to win a Stanley Cup, losing in two Finals (1975 and 1999). Alongside the Canucks, the Sabres are the oldest franchise to never win the Cup.
