Utah HC were forced to walk to their game against the Maple Leafs

Utah HC had their first-ever away trip to Toronto on Sunday, and they immediately got a taste of what living in the city is like, as they were forced into a non-NHL-style pre-game routine.

As Utah made their way from the players’ hotel to the arena, they quickly realized they weren’t going to make it in time. Toronto is known for many things, and its traffic is one of them. It can be brutal if you’re traveling in the heart of the city at the wrong time of day, and Utah got to experience just that. They weren’t anywhere near their destination in time.

So, they decided to take matters into their own hands and simply jump off the standstill bus and walk to the arena.

Utah HC had to walk to the game

The team’s little adventure was captured in a video posted on Utah’s official TikTok account, with defenseman Maveric Lamoreux narrating:

“Walking pre-game to get to the rink because there’s way too much traffic,” he said in the video. “The bus is not moving at all, so it’s pretty much the whole team walking the street.

“So I think that’s a first for everyone. (I’ve) never seen that before.”

Some fans even stopped to take photos with the players as they made their way to the arena. Whether it was due to the unpredictable pre-game routine or not, Utah HC ultimately lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs, 3-2.
