Game 2 of the second-round series between the Rangers and the Hurricanes was entertaining, to say the least.
The Rangers won it 4-3 in OT to take a 2-0 series lead, and although the Canes played a great game, they couldn’t get the best of goalie Igor Shesterkin. And now, frustration is starting to build.
The game on Tuesday got chirpier by the minute, and it all started with Shesterkin getting taken out by Andrei Svechnikov behind the Rangers’ net.
The Rangers goalie skated behind to play the puck and got run over by the Hurricanes winger, which led to anger from the Rangers players.
And in the second period, Canes defenseman Tony DeAngelo got involved.
He was once a controversial Rangers defenseman but has no love left for his former teammates, judging by what we saw on Tuesday.
DeAngelo started arguing with K’Andre Miller, and luckily, for everyone watching at home, it was all caught on camera.
”I’ll fight you anytime,” DeAngelo was heard saying to his former teammate during a line change.
What Miller replied to DeAngelo didn’t get picked up by the microphones, but some part of what DeAngelo said next was.
“Oh, yeah, you’re a f–king …,” DeAngelo said before it got cut off.
Tony DeAngelo and K’Andre Miller were involved in a controversial incident as teammates back in 2020-21, as speculations said that DeAngelo withheld the puck from Miller’s first goal.
Although the speculations were called false and sad by the Rangers, there doesn’t seem to be much love between the former teammates. We’re guessing we will see some more heated moments between these two before the series is over.
