Tom Wilson has always been known for laying big (and sometimes questionable) hits. But last night, he found himself on the receiving end of a big hit, and fans couldn’t stop laughing at his hilarious reaction.
Wilson isn’t the most popular player among NHL fans. While he’s adored by the Washington Capitals’ fanbase, fans of other teams often take issue with his rough playing style.
Wilson never shies away from delivering a massive hit, and over the course of his NHL career, he’s made himself known as someone who can throw a cheap shot at anyone at any time. But in Tuesday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, Wilson got a taste of his own medicine.

He had possession of the puck in the neutral zone and had just dumped it into the Ducks’ zone when Frank Vatrano saw an opportunity to deliver a big hit. Wilson didn’t have the best balance, and as the hit happened along the boards, it sent him flying over them and into the Ducks’ bench.
Wilson landed on his back in the middle of several Ducks players sitting on the bench, waiting for the next shift.
And he handled it perfectly. It’s not easy to get up on your own when something like that happens, so Wilson patiently waited for someone to give him a push. Fans found it hilarious to see him take his time getting out of the bench and off his opponents, on social media, fans couldn’t stop laughing at the hilarious sequence.
Tom Wilson has six goals and three assists over the last 10 games, and ranks four in points for the Capitals this season.
