Evander Kane had a hat trick and Connor McDavid had two assists for the Edmonton Oilers in an 8-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 3 of the Western Conference on Friday.
Los Angeles outshot Edmonton 19-7 in the first period, but the Oilers took a 2–0 lead at 6:07.
Kings goalie Jonathan Quick allowed four goals on 17 shots before being replaced in the second period by Cal Petersen. He made 16 saves on 20 shots.
“That’s a big slap in the face tonight, and we got to regroup,” Kings forward Philip Danault said. “Luckily, it’s only 2-1 in the series, so we got to regroup and step up next game”.
Kings coach Todd McLellan was obviously not very happy with his team after the loss. After the game, he held a very brief presser. Actually, it ended after only 24 seconds…
