Thomas Chabot has certainly stepped up in a huge way this season.
Already past his career high in points, Chabot is developing into the talented Defenceman the Ottawa Senators were hoping for.
Last night, he made a lasting impact on Vladislav Namestnikov.
Here is the update from Rangers coach David Quinn on Vladislav Namestnikov, who was clearly shaken up by a hit from Sens D Thomas Chabot in the third period: "When I left the locker room he was talking, so that's progress."

With the Sens trailing late in the third period and down by one, Ottawa were looking to find some late-game magic. Chabot carried the puck through the Sens’ defensive end into the neutral zone.
He lost the handle on the puck in the neutral zone and the puck briefly slid to an oncoming Namestnikov. Namestnikov touched the puck and was flattened by the Senators’ young defenceman.
Namestnikov was shaken up by the hit and struggled to return to the bench he left seconds prior.

Chabot isn’t necessarily known for his body-checking, as he has only tallied 30 hits on the year in 24 GP.
Even though Chabot won’t skate around throwing his body viciously, he can certainly throw some power behind his check.
