Jake DeBrusk is now into his fifth year with the Boston Bruins, but he hasn’t made as many points as fans hoped during his two last seasons. Many saw DeBrusk as a great talent when he entered the league, but he only put up 14 points last year and has started this year scoring only three goals and a total of three points in 17 games.
Now, his time as a Bruin seems close to an end.
DeBrusk’s agent, Rick Valette, has confirmed that DeBrusk has asked for a trade from the Bruins, and it wasn’t a shocking revelation. DeBrusk has been a healthy scratch, and both sides could sure use a fresh start.
So, where could Jake DeBrusk end up next? According to journalist Bruce Garrioch, the 2015 first-round pick was a subject for the Ottawa Senators this summer, but the trade didn’t go through. But now, with things changing in the Bruins, talks could begin once again.
”Believe the Sens held talks Bruins on DeBrusk in the off-season. My guess is they circle back,” he writes on Twitter.
Another team potentially interested in DeBrusk is the Edmonton Oilers. At least according to reports on Twitter.
”Jake Debrusk to Edmonton would make sense. Need for a middle 6 winger potentially with all the rotation at the bottom of the lineup,” writes the hockey show and podcast World Hockey Report.
