Senators fan loses the respect of his girlfriend

In the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Maple Leafs are up 3-0 in their Battle of Ontario against the Ottawa Senators. Although only one game has been played in the Canadian capital, Senators fans are already disheartened by the team’s less-than-stellar performances. One fan in the stands couldn’t hold it together during Thursday’s loss, prompting a hilarious reaction from his girlfriend.

The Ottawa Senators have not made an NHL playoff appearance since 2017, when they reached the Eastern Conference Finals, led by Erik Karlsson. In other words, Senators fans were buzzing ahead of Thursday’s Game 3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, despite being down 2-0 in the series. However, the first playoff game in Ottawa in eight years did not go as the fans had hoped. The Senators lost 3-2 in overtime, with Simon Benoit scoring the game-clinching goal just one minute in.

Senators fan crying

Afterwards, Senators fans were gutted and upset. Now, a clip of one especially devastated fan is circling the internet. The fan, wearing a Senators jersey, is seen crying in the stands while his girlfriend, wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, watches him skeptically.
“Senators fan loses the respect of his significant other,” the caption reads—and the comments are far from merciful.
“Spit my drink out laughing at this,” one person writes on Reddit.
“That is the funniest thing I’ve seen,” another adds.
