It was all smiles Thursday evening when Nashville Predators forward Kyle Turris returned to the Canadian Tire Centre. Turris was a staple amongst the Ottawa community and was a team leader on and off the ice with the Senators.
Turris was dealt to Nashville in a three-team trade with the Senators, Predators and Colorado Avalanche. Turris was given a standing ovation from the Sens faithful, as a video tribute played on the scoreboard.
Turris and his wife, Julie, were heavily connected with the Capital City Condors. The Capital City Condors are a team in the Ottawa area dedicated to giving players with developmental disabilities the chance to play hockey. Turris and his family were involved with the Condors, and the 7th Annual Kyle Turris & Capital City Condors Golf Classic is set to take place later this year in June.
Turris has 22 points in 37 games with the Preds this season.
