Ryan Reaves misses hit, skates away with dasher board ad

Ryan Reaves always plays the physical game and gives his all when it comes to delivering hard hits. But on Wednesday, things went wrong as he tried to lay a hard check—and the outcome was absolutely hilarious.

If you’re a fan of NHL hockey, you know that everything can happen. With how many games that are being played, and with how fast-paced the game is, with incidents all around the ice all the time, it can lead to some pretty interesting moments.

But during Wednesday’s game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals, fans saw something that probably has never happened in the league before, and of course, it had to be Ryan Reaves who was involved.

Ryan Reaves’ hilarious moment

In the second period of Wednesday’s game, Reaves tried to lay a big hit on Capitals’ defenseman John Carlson. But instead of making contact with Carlson, Reaves slammed into the boards. When the Toronto tough guy skated away, a Lexus board ad had detached from the boards and stuck on Reaves.

As Reaves skated through the neutral zone, he looked somewhat like a superhero, with a cloak swaying from his body.

Fans couldn’t stop laughing at the unique and hilarious incident, that’s probably never happened before in the NHL. Reaves’ blooper quickly made the rounds on social media, with everyone laughing at the viral video.
