The Pittsburgh Penguin are still in pursuit over Jason Zucker, according to Sportsnet expert Elliotte Friedman.
The question still remains if the Wild are interested in trading one of their key pieces.
The NHL trade deadline is just over a month away, and rumors surrounding players being traded are starting to heat up.
Just like last season, Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker is one of the top players surrounded by trade rumors, and one of the teams interested appears to be the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In February last year Zucker was close of joining the Calgary Flames but the deal fell through, according to reports.
A couple of months later, a deal between the Penguins and the Wild was coming to a close involving Phil Kessel going the other way, but the Penguins star refuse to waive his no-trade clause which made a deal impossible.
However, a deal for Zucker heading to Pittsburgh seams to be back on.
Sportsnet’s Elliote Friedman reports in his most recent 31 Thoughts that the Penguins still shows interest in Zucker.
“Pittsburgh continues its pursuit of Jason Zucker, but the Wild aren’t yet ready to concede anything”, Friedman reports.
The Penguins are preparing for the playoffs and suffered a huge blow in december with Jake Guentzel being out for the rest of the season.
It all depends on Minnesota’s general manager Bill Guerin being convinced of trading one of his top players, with Zucker having 28 points in 40 games this season.
