Radko Gudas knocks down two Senators players with one hit

Radko Gudas is a true veteran of the NHL. He played his first game in the league 12 years ago, but last night, he turned back the clock with one of the best hits we’ve seen this season.

Gudas is in his second year with the Anaheim Ducks, now serving as the team captain. He’s never been a defenseman known for his offensive abilities but rather for his defensive expertise and his physical plays.

Gudas has had four seasons with more than 100 PIMs in the NHL throughout his career, and last night, he proved that he still has it, despite being 34 years old. The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Ottawa Senators at home on Sunday, but the highlight of the game came from Radko Gudas during a play against the Senators’ Tim Stützle.

Radko Gudas’ amazing hit

The German forward has a reputation for falling easily when he gets the chance, but against Gudas, he didn’t exaggerate.

Stützle had possession of the puck in the Senators’ offensive zone, and as he tried to make a deke around Gudas, the veteran defenseman simply put out his hip and delivered a beautiful hip check that sent Stützle flying.

The video of the incident went viral on social media, not only because of the hit – but also for what happened directly after. As Stützle was sent flying, it created a hilarious domino effect that knocked another Sens player down.

Stützle, after the hit from Gudas, flew straight into the legs of Josh Norris, who came from behind, causing him to fall to the ice as well. It’s not bad when you manage to take out two players with just one hip-check, and it just so happened to look very amusing, too!
