Pittsburgh Penguins fan embarrass himself during home game

The Pittsburgh Penguins lost 5-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday, but one fan had a worse night than anyone else. A grown man made a complete fool of himself, prompting other fans to urge the Penguins to “ban him for life.”

The Penguins’ 2025 season hasn’t started well. They’ve won only one of their six games so far this year. On Sunday, they lost at home to the Lightning after a dramatic third period.

The Penguins tied the game 2-2 early in the period, but with just over three minutes left, Nikita Kucherov scored to make it 3-2. Tampa Bay then added two empty-net goals to seal a 5-2 victory. While the game was disappointing for Pittsburgh, one fan in the arena had an even rougher night.

During the game, a puck landed in the netting behind one of the goals. A young fan began banging on the glass, trying to knock it loose to take home as a souvenir. As the puck finally fell, a grown man approached and grabbed it before the child could. Fans in the area booed him, but according to social media reports, he responded by flipping off the crowd—including the young fan.

Videos and photos of the incident quickly spread on social media, with many fans calling for the Penguins to punish the man. “Ban him for life,” one fan commented on a Penguins’ post.

It’s unclear what happened to the man after he left his seat, but other fans cheered as he exited the arena.
