The Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks series is displaying just what the playoffs are all about.
It’s all kind of entertaining, and the rivalry between the two Canadian teams has excelled during these games played so far. It’s been high-paced, intense, and thrilling.
An example of that: Every game so far has ended with one-goal victories, but there have also been a lot of content moments between players.
Evander Kane and Nikita Zadorov have personalized this series, going toe-to-toe with almost every game.
It hasn’t been short of controversial and physical battles and incidents. Carson Soucy was suspended one game after a cross-check on Connor McDavid, and Zadorov was fined for a cross-check in the same sequence.
When the teams played Game 4, veteran forward Corey Perry hilariously trolled Brock Boeser during a scrum with a clear reference to the earlier cross-check.
On Thursday, during Game 5, it was Zadorov’s time to troll an opponent, and Evander Kane was on the receiving end.
Kane wanted a penalty call from the referees, and Nikita Zadorov saw his pleading.
The Canucks defenseman decided to troll his opponent by making a crying face at Kane, and you don’t have to be a lip reader to understand he was saying, ’Whaaaa.’ The clip of Zadorov quickly went viral, with everyone finding it absolutely hilarious.
Zadorov and his Canucks got the last laugh in the game as well, as J.T. Miller scored the game-winner to put Canucks up 3-2 with just 32 seconds of the game. Now, the Canucks are only one game away from advancing in the playoffs and sending the Oilers on vacation. Bring on Game 6 on Saturday!
