The Detroit Red Wings look sharper and more exciting than in a long, long time. With many exciting prospects, they’re aspiring for a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.
And a big reason behind their sudden success is spelled, Moritz Seider. The rookie defenseman has dominated the league all year and keeps turning heads with his incredible offensive skills, as well as defensive stability.
Seider is one of the favorites for the Calder Trophy this year, and there seems to be nothing that can slow the kid down. Last night, against the Colorado Avalanche, Seider got the fans buzzing after two great hits.
In his defensive zone, Seider first put in a big hit on Andre Burakovsky, who he, without much trouble, pushed up against the board. Then, seconds later, Seider had the puck behind his net and did a reverse-hit against Gabriel Landeskog.
The Red Wings lost the game, 5-2, but Seider still managed to put up two assists. He now has 37 points in 52 games as a rookie defenseman.
