Matthew Tkachuk is one of those players you love to have as a teammate but hate to play against. On Wednesday, he didn’t just score two goals against the Wild—he also had a hilarious moment with Marco Rossi, who clearly had enough of Tkachuk’s antics.
Tkachuk is one of the NHL’s biggest stars. The son of the legendary Keith Tkachuk, he’s known as one of the hardest-working players in the league. But beyond his relentless work ethic, he excels offensively and has a knack for turning the tide of a game at any moment.
In the 2024 season, Tkachuk became the first in his family to win the Stanley Cup after the Panthers triumphed in Game 7 of the Finals against the Oilers. He was a pivotal factor in that victory and has carried his momentum into the 2024-25 season, amassing 31 points in 27 games.
Rossi rolls his eyes at Tkachuk
During the Panthers’ dominant 6-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday, Tkachuk shined once again, scoring two goals and drawing attention for more than just his scoring.
In one scrum, Tkachuk grabbed hold of the Wild’s Marco Rossi, who clearly wanted no part of it. Despite Rossi’s attempts to get away, Tkachuk maintained a firm grip on his jersey. Replays hilariously captured Rossi rolling his eyes in frustration.
The moment quickly went viral, with fans weighing in on social media:
“I’ve never seen such a perfect personification of how I feel about Matthew Tkachuk,” one user commented.
“Lmao at the 2 linesmen trying to pry Tkachuk’s fingers away from the jersey like, ’pls bro just let him go,’” another added.
“Me too, Marco. Me too,” a third said.
