Marc-Andre Fleury gets revenge on Crosby with awesome prank

Marc-Andre Fleury will be missed when he eventually decides to retire. According to his own claims, it’s happening after this season, but Fleury keeps proving that he still has it, both on the ice and off it, in terms of pranking. This weekend, Sidney Crosby and Marc-Andre Fleury found themselves at the same hotel in Raleigh, and he decided to poke the bear, which would turn out to be a big mistake …

Marc-Andre Fleury is one of the most legendary goalies in NHL history, and he’s not just known for his puck-stopping and winning trophies. Over the course of his Hall of Fame-worthy career, Fleury has proved time and time again that he’s the best prankster in the league.

He remains very good friends with several players on the Pittsburgh Penguins, winning three Stanley Cups with the team and playing with icons such as Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

Sidney Crosby pranked Marc-Andre Fleury

This weekend, Crosby’s and Fleury’s paths crossed again as they found themselves at the same hotel in Raleigh, as the Wild and the Penguins played against the Hurricanes in Carolina on Saturday and Sunday.

Sidney Crosby couldn’t let the opportunity to retaliate against Fleury, the notorious prankster, slip. The Pens’ captain took some of Fleury’s former teammates with him and got a hold of a key card to Fleury’s hotel room while the Wild were at their morning skate. It has not been confirmed exactly what happened in Fleury’s room, but Marc-Andre Fleury told The Athletic that the Penguins players “moved some things around.”

Fleury got revenge on Crosby

Marc-Andre Fleury was on back-up duty this weekend, meaning he had a lot of free time. Coincidentally, the Penguins players’ equipment bags were stacked just outside the Wild’s locker room. Fleury, of course, wouldn’t let an opportunity of that kind slip away.

At the bottom of the bag pile, he found Crosby’s gear, and he decided to have a little fun with it. Crosby is a superstitious guy, and Fleury knows about it. As Crosby didn’t participate in Sunday’s morning skate, he would find out about the prank just ahead of the game against the Hurricanes.

Fleury decided to go easy on him, but per The Athletic, Crosby opened up his equipment bag to find his visor was filled with Vaseline, his skate laces tied upside down, and some beef sticks inside his jockstrap.

“I just had a little fun,” Fleury told The Athletic. “Wait! I’ve said too much. It wasn’t me. I wasn’t there.”
