Jordan Binnington absolutely loses it on Corey Perry

The matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the St. Louis Blues had a real playoff vibe—and, of course, the ever-controversial Jordan Binnington found himself at the center of attention once again. After a battle in front of his net, he completely lost it on veteran forward Corey Perry—with everyone online saying the exact same thing about it.

Jordan Binnington is one of the most controversial goalies in the NHL. No one questions his ability to stop pucks, but he’s always played with a fiery temper. Throughout his career, he’s made headlines for going after opponents and looking for fights.

On Wednesday night, he was at it again. Binnington has been a key player for the St. Louis Blues this season, playing a vital role in the team’s surge since the 4 Nations Face-Off. And when he and the Blues faced off against the Oilers, the game came with a full-on playoff atmosphere—tensions were sky-high.

Jordan Binnington loses it

Just nine minutes into the game, Oilers veteran Corey Perry was battling in front of Binnington’s net when the two collided. Binnington absolutely lost it, going after his opponent with full force. He took Perry down in front of the net and threw a few swipes before the two were separated. Perry ended up throwing punches at Jake Neighbours instead, and all three—Perry, Binnington, and Neighbours—were penalized for their actions.

Binnington is often slammed by fans of other teams for his on-ice antics, but this time, everyone seemed to be saying the same thing: he had every right to be angry. Perry skated straight into him after Binnington had made the save.
“Binnington is a nut, but Perry literally skates straight into his head,” one fan said.
“Perry went in skates first,” another added.
“Binner had all the right to do that,” a third wrote.
