Jeremy Swayman doesn’t seem to like Nick Suzuki. Just a month ago, Swayman shoved the Canadiens captain during a game, and on Sunday, he was back at it, lashing out at Suzuki again.
Swayman didn’t have the best preparation for the start of the 2024-25 season. After Linus Ullmark left the Boston Bruins, contract negotiations dragged on for months, which meant that Swayman missed out on the preseason. So far this campaign, Swayman hasn’t looked like his usual self, as evidenced by his 3.09 GAA and .893 save percentage.
On Sunday, he was in net as the Boston Bruins won 6-3 against the Montreal Canadiens, but in a testy game, Swayman drew attention for something other than stopping pucks.
Jeremy Swayman punches Suzuki
In a game in November, Swayman went viral for shoving Nick Suzuki, and on Sunday, he went after the Canadiens captain once again. Seemingly without any reason, Swayman lost it as Suzuki stood outside his crease.
With the puck leaving the Bruins’ zone, Swayman shoved Suzuki hard, causing him to fall to the ice. The referee was right beside them as it happened, but no call was made, even though Swayman likely deserved a two-minute minor for the shove.
Suzuki wasn’t happy but didn’t react, skating away from the Bruins goalie after giving him a long, serious look.
