As the Bruins were eliminated by the Florida Panthers, it was also time for Jack Edwards to say goodbye to the NESN’s viewers. Jack Edwards worked in the broadcast booth for NESN for 19 years and became a huge fan-favorite among the Bruins fanbase. His passionate calls about the Bruins made Boston fans absolutely love him.
Edwards was a constant part of the Bruins fans’ lives for such a long time, and when it was time for him to retire, he did so with a heartfelt farewell, especially thanking analyst Andy Brickley.
”The past 19 years, to witness and describe some of the greatest moments in the New England sports pantheon has been a thrill of a lifetime,” said Edwards.
”Most of all, I want to thank my broadcast partner Andy Brickley,” Edwards continued. “You’re the brother I never had until I started working with you. And it’s been a joy ride for 19 years. And this is my goodbye.”

Edwards announced his plans to retire during the post-season, citing health issues that affected his speech. Although he said he remained as mentally sharp as always, he felt too affected by the slow speech and slurring. But now, there’s a new place to follow Jack Edwards for anyone missing his thoughts about the Bruins—and it’s not one you might’ve expected.
This weekend, during the Bruins’ game against the Montreal Canadiens, posts from Jack Edwards started showing up on the Bruins’ Reddit page. Website moderators confirmed that it was indeed the real Jack Edwards. It was hilarious seeing his views on the game, and to no one’s surprise, he was not happy with the officiating during the game.
”So Primeau thrusts off his line and Brazeau goes to inside ice. If you draw a line to the sky from the crease, the contact comes outside the crease. Next goal Montreal is going to appeal that a Bruin had a garlic garnish on his pregame and Primeau couldn’t do his job because of the Bruin’s bad breath.
AND MONTREAL GETS ANOTHER CALL BECAUSE ZADOROV DID HIS JOB!” Edwards wrote about an overturned goal for the Bruins.

When the Bruins later scored a goal that stood, he said, ’CALL THAT ONE BACK YOU OVER-OFFICIOUS REPLAY JUNKIES.’
Jack Edwards later also said that the Reddit page was his new outlet to call games.
”I have to have an outlet now that I’m calling the games. This is it‚” he said.
Edwards’ comments got plenty of interactions during the game. He didn’t write anything during Monday’s game against the Florida Panthers, but fans will certainly want him to come back in the future!
