Not only is Sidney Crosby one of the best hockey players in the world. He’s also the reigning king of backhand shots.
The backhand shot is tough to master, because it requires a lot from a player. It takes some brilliant technique and strength but it’s an effective weapon which usually is hard to read and makes the goaltender disoriented. The backhand shot is a fierce weapon. However, not everyone can handle it.
Mats Sundin was an expert of taking backhand shots, not least through breakaways and shootouts. But there’s only one player that can be the master of backhand shots. And that person is without a doubt Sidney Crosby.
