Game 2 between the Rangers and the Hurricanes was a testy one, and it’s obvious how much it means to all the players.
There were several controversial incidents during Tuesday’s matchup and no shortage of arguments between the players.
Andrei Svechnikov ran over Igor Shesterkin in the first period, which led to some angry faces from the Rangers players.
In the second period, Tony DeAngelo got into an argument with former teammate K’Andre Miller that was caught on camera.
But Vincent Trocheck, who later would decide the game in overtime, was also involved in some chirps, and in the second period, he decided to mock Jake Guentzel in hilarious fashion.
The Hurricanes were on a powerplay, and after a whistle, some Rangers players started taunting Jake Guentzel.
Eventually, the forward decided to take a punch at Adam Fox, which led to him getting sent to the penalty box for roughing.
As Vincent Trocheck saw Guentzel taking a seat for the retaliation penalty, he gave him a big thumbs-up.
The humorous moment quickly went viral, with everyone finding Trochek’s taunting move absolutely brilliant.
And if Trocheck’s night couldn’t have panned out any better, he also scored the game-winner to give the Rangers a 2-0 series lead.
