The Edmonton Oilers are going to the Western Conference Final!
The Oilers dominated the Canucks in Monday’s Game 7, and if it hadn’t been for Arturs Silovs, the game would’ve been decided way earlier.
Through the first 50 minutes of the games, the Oilers bombarded the Canucks net with shots, and although Silovs made several breathtaking saves, the Oilers eventually earned a three-goal lead.
It looked comfortable, but goals from Conor Garland and Filip Hronek made the final few minutes tense, but the Oilers managed to hang on.
They’re not just four wins over the Dallas Stars from a Stanley Cup Finals, and Connor McDavid was pumped up afterward.
As the final buzzer sounded, McDavid hugged all of his teammates and screamed his lungs out in pure happiness.
Not long after that, McDavid tried to do an on-ice interview, but it didn’t work out very well.
“I thought we defended well,” McDavid said, with his voice cracking. “We played two really good games, backs were against the wall. Sorry about my voice here.”
Shortly after the interview was released on social media, another one came out showing exactly why McDavid lost his voice.
It was obvious that his yelling during the celebration was the cause.
The video of McDaivd barely being able to speak after the Oilers’ win quickly went viral, with everyone finding it hilarious.
The funniest part was probably when the reporter finished the interview by saying, ’Congrats, go get a lozenge.’
