Calgary Flames Defenseman Travis Hamonic has found himself in hot water following Monday night’s 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Flames have lost 7 of their last 10 games, but Hamonic’s actions after leaving the ice is all that has been talked about.
After the final whistle, Hamonic left the ice to return to the locker room. In the process, he stared into the crowd and made a gesture.
Real classy of Travis Hamonic making fun of a “husky” NHL employee as he was headed down the tunnel. @NHLFlames should be proud. pic.twitter.com/AYnVJ7MWLj

It isn’t clear what set off Hamonic or what was said to him, but the action was caught during the closing moments of a Penguins broadcast and was instantly posted online.
Reports are indicating that Hamonic made the gesture towards a Security Guard on the bench (bottom right corner of the tweet), but isn’t exactly known who Hamonic was gesturing towards. It does indeed look like Hamonic is looking directly at the Security Guard in black, but cameras didn’t catch if there was another fan on the other side of the glass.
It’ll be interesting to see what Hamonic says when asked about the incident in media scrums.
@NHL @ATTSportsNetPIT How is it okay and/or acceptable for Travis Hamonic to act like that while representing the NHL, especially on Hockey is for Everyone Night?? In case you’re curious watch Hamonic walk off the bench as soon as OT is over.
