Great troll of the Panthers before Game 7 against Edmonton Oilers

Fans are calling it one of the biggest games in NHL history, and it’s tough to argue.

The Edmonton Oilers were down 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers but have won three straight games.

It all comes down to this: A Game 7 in Florida, where the Edmonton Oilers aren’t just looking to become the first team since 1942 to win a Final after losing the first three games of the series but also to become the first Canadian-based team to win it since 1993.

It’s Connor McDavid, the best player in the world, against players like Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov, and it’s just so much to look forward to.

Edmonton trolls the Florida Panthers

And ahead of the deciding game, the city of Edmonton decided to troll the Florida Panthers and let’s just say they did a pretty good job.

With taxpayer money, the ’Explore Edmonton’ bought a billboard along the highway in Sunrise, Florida, home of the Florida Panthers.

It was placed for everyone who travels from south Florida to the northern city to see and said, ’Edmonton: Home of 5 Cups and 0 Rats. Explore Edmonton: Canada’s Hockey City.’

Fans loved Edmonton’s troll

On social media, Explore Edmonton said, ’Hey Panthers, enjoying the view? We brought a taste of the Great White North to the Sunshine State with our digital billboards. We’ve heard about your tradition of tossing rats on the ice (interesting choice), but Edmonton is rat-free & we’d love to keep it that way!’

The Florida Panthers’ tradition of throwing rats on the ice dates back to October 1995, when a rat appeared in the locker room before a game against the Calgary Flames.

Of course, Edmonton’s hilarious troll job went viral, with everyone finding it hilarious.

And we’re guessing not a single person in Edmonton is upset about the use of the city’s money.

”This is awesome!!” one user said.

”Holy s—t lol,” another said.

”Respect,” a third added.
