Georges Laraque begs the Oilers for a contract, just to get revenge on Milan Lucic after goalie collision
In the third period, the Edmonton Oilers were up 4-0 in Game 3 of the Battle of Alberta, as Milan Lucic was handed a five-minute major and got ejected from the game.
He completely ran over Oilers goalie Mike Smith, who temporarily had to leave the game due to concussion protocol. After four minutes, he was back on the ice, but Lucic didn’t play anymore, and he could well be up for a hearing from the NHL Department of Player Safety.
A huge scrum evolved after the run-down from Lucic, and several players were sent to the penalty box. But that wasn’t enough, at least in Georges Laraque’s book. As a player, Laraque was known for his incredible fighting abilities, and in nearly 700 games, he put up well over 1120 PIMs.
Laraque played for the Oilers for most of his career and did not like what he saw from Lucic last night. He even took on Twitter to beg the Oilers for a contract, just to go after Lucic.
”Ok Edmonton Oilers sign me up, got someone to destroy!!! My GOd what was that!!!” Laraque said.
The Oilers won’t, of course, sign Laraque for a contract, but they’re up 2-1 in the Battle of Alberta and may get revenge on Lucic by sending the Flames on vacation.
