
After three years of rehab, Gabriel Landeskog finally made his great comeback in game three of the Stanley Cup playoffs. He did it against his friend and former teammate Mikko Rantanten. In his first shift, Landeskog really underlined the part about former with a huge hit.
Gabriel Landeskog has been battling with a knee injury ever since he hoisted the Stanley Cup in June 2022. For a long time no one, not even himself, knew if he was going to be able to play hockey again. But for the past few months, NHL fans have followed his progress in training with a passion.
Gabriel Landeskog comeback
Avalanche fan or not, every hockey fan loves a good comeback. And on Wednesday, in game three against the Dallas Stars, Landeskog finally made the lineup. The cheers when Gabriel Landeskog took the ice was deafening. In his first shift in three years, the Avalanche captain showed the hockey world what they have been missing.
Huge hit on Rantanen
Starting on the third line, playing with Charlie Coyle and Joel Kiviranta, Landeskog quickly made an impact on the ice when he laid out a huge hit on his good friend and former teammate Mikko Rantanen. Rantanten was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in January after almost ten years on the Avalanche. After just 13 games, Rantanen was once again traded, to the Dallas Stars who are set to make a deep playoff push this year. The Stars won the game 2-1 in overtime and now have a 2-1 lead in the series. You can watch the hit below.
