Fans furious after Brady Tkachuk’s cheap shot on Jason Zucker

Brady Tkachuk is a great player, but he’s also very much known for his chippy style of play. He proved why on Thursday with a very questionable hit on Buffalo Sabres star Jason Zucker that left fans absolutely furious.

Everyone knows what a talented player Brady Tkachuk is. He’s the captain of the Ottawa Senators and undoubtedly one of the best power forwards in the league.

Tkachuk is also known for his physicality and playing on the edge, which has contributed significantly to his success in the NHL. However, at times, he takes it just a bit too far, and many believe he crossed the line on Thursday during the Senators’ contest against the Buffalo Sabres.

Fans furious at Brady Tkachuk

Tkachuk delivered a dirty, cheap hit from behind on Buffalo Sabres forward Jason Zucker during the first period, slamming Zucker face-first into the boards. Tkachuk was given a two-minute minor for charging, but fans believed the officials got it wrong.

Zucker’s back was turned, leaving him defenseless, as Tkachuk delivered the hit after seeing only the numbers on his jersey. Zucker was shaken up and needed assistance off the ice after the hit. Thankfully, he returned to the game, but on social media, many criticized both Tkachuk’s behavior and the officials for issuing only a two-minute penalty.

“These need to be five-minute majors,” one said.

“Dirty f—king hit,” another said.

“That hurt just looking at. That elbow hit at a bad place,” a third added.

“I hate these hits. From behind, close but not right on the boards. Awful call,” a fourth said.

Late in the game, with the Sabres down 4-0, Tkachuk showed his frustration by fighting Dennis Gilbert.
