Full chaos erupted in the Tampa Bay Lightning’s penalty box in Game 2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.
The Toronto Maple Leafs had a comfortable and big league in the third period, and that’s when things started to get out of hand, and the emotions ran high as we saw several scrums and dropped gloves.
When Tanner Jeannot had to take a trip to the penalty box following a fight with Luke Schenn, a fan standing right next to the box tried to get Jeannot out of balance.
The fan was so aggressive that police eventually had to escort him out of there, but at the same time, another fan, sitting right by the glass and next to the penalty box, also tried to play a part in getting at the Tampa players.

As several Tampa players stood right outside the penalty box, and with Jeannot standing in it, the fan started dancing in the Tampa players’ faces. She also screamed at them through the glass and also started slamming it.
Legendary Hall of Famer Phil Esposito was the radio color commentator for the Lightning, and when he saw what happened, he said the following:
“You’ve got a fat woman who’s yapping like crazy here, or is that a guy with long hair? I can’t tell.”
Although many Lightning fans thought the line was funny, many also pointed out that speaking about a fan’s weight was unacceptable.
”Literally just nuked his entire career. He’ll be fired by midnight,” one said.
”Phil Esposito is probably going to get cancelled,” another said.
”This is why American broadcasters are garbage, they have no respect for anyone or anything. Call someone “fat” is completely disrespectful and lacking empathy,” a third added.
