Over the years, as the game got faster, we’ve seen some remarkable plays from hockey’s athletes. As the game progressed into new era’s fans would see someone special that would stand out amongst the rest – that man is Connor McDavid.
Of course, we still have Sidney Crosby in the league, who has been the NHL’s top player for multiple years. But once Crosby officially retires from the league, the NHL will be Connor McDavid’s playground (like it already isn’t)
What sets apart players like Crosby and McDavid from the rest of the league is their ability to create scoring chances at high speeds. Multiple players can create no-look passes, but very few can do it at top speed.

That’s what Connor McDavid did last night against Chicago. McDavid caught a pass in the neutral zone and hit full-flight in a couple of strides. Chicago’s Duncan Keith did a good job in forcing McDavid to his backhand, but the twirling forward spun a dime and dished the puck to teammate Patrick Maroon. It was an easy tap-in goal for Maroon who was facing an open net. Edmonton would go on to defeat Chicago in Overtime.
The dazzling play is what sets apart regular players from the elite, and Connor McDavid is at the top of the elite.
