Connor Bedard scores sensational goal for the Blackhawks

Connor Bedard was sensational against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. Not only did he score his 14th goal of the season, but it was also one of the most spectacular goals we’ve seen this year.

The Chicago Blackhawks are still early in their rebuild, and they’re not exactly challenging for a playoff spot this year. It’s easy to forget what a generational talent Connor Bedard is, but even on a struggling Blackhawks team, he has 44 points in 50 games. He was outstanding in the Blackhawks’ 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, scoring one of the goals of the season on the power play.

The 2023 first-overall pick drifted near the bottom of the right circle halfway through the second period before firing a shot through a tiny, tiny window that no one else even saw.

Connor Bedard’s incredible goal

It slipped past goalie Jonas Johansson, hit the left post, and went in.
“I saw enough room for the puck to go in,” Bedard said of the sharp-angle shot, per ABC Chicago. “It was late in the power play, and I just thought I’d give it a go. I’ve tried that shot a million times, and I finally put one in.”

His teammates and coaches were in awe of Bedard’s play post-game.
“Everybody saw it coming, right?” Chicago interim coach Anders Sorensen said with a smile. “It was special, right? But you could feel the energy on the bench, for sure.”

Bedard has now recorded three points in his last three games and has been held pointless in just two games since the start of the new year.
