Boston Bruins Defenseman Zdeno Chara may not be well-received in Montreal, but the giant made a classy move ahead of his meeting with the Montreal Canadiens.
Earlier this season, Chara took a slapshot that knocked Phillip Danault in the head and left him on the ice. Danault would need to be stretchered off the ice from the scary incident. Danault is now back on the ice for Montreal and recovered, but it could have easily been career and life-altering.
Chara gets a bad rap in this city, he’s actually a great sportsman. #NHLBruins #GoHabsGo pic.twitter.com/COIV3ixv5x

This was the first time Danault and Chara met on-ice since the incident. Chara skated to Danault at center-ice during the pre-game warmups. Chara tapped Danault with his stick, acknowledging that he is happy for Danault to be back. Danault gave him a stick-tap as well and was appreciative of Chara’s subtle gesture.
The original shot was clearly an accident, and Chara could have just went about his business, but to take the time to check in with Danault shows how much player’s care for one another.
