Bryan Rust makes spectacular save on Jakob Silfverberg

If Bryan Rust decides that being a forward is no longer his passion, he may find a career as a netminder.

In the first period of tonight’s clash between the Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins, Rust made a spectacular save to keep the Ducks off the scoreboard.

With under five minutes to play in the opening period, the Ducks were looking to get back into this game before intermission. Jakob Silfverberg had the opportunity to pot a goal but his shot was met by a diving Rust.

Rust slid in front of the shot, mirroring a baseball slide. Silfverberg’s shot caught the skates of Rust and the shot went wide.

The period ended with the Penguins still up two on the Ducks, as Silfverberg was looking at scoring his tenth of the season.
