There’s always plenty of emotion in NHL games. With the fast pace, constant battles, and heated moments, it’s no surprise that players sometimes lose their tempers. And when that happens, you can bet a few choice words will be flying. But Mark Scheifele isn’t like most players—leading to a hilarious mic’d-up moment from a game a couple of weeks ago.
Every time the NHL drops a mic’d-up video, it’s usually packed with beeps, thanks to players letting loose with some colorful language. But Scheifele, the Winnipeg Jets’ star forward, is different. He doesn’t swear on the ice. In fact, he doesn’t swear at all. Period.
No matter how intense things get, Scheifele never drops an F-bomb—even in the heat of an argument. And a recent mic’d-up video proves that every player in the league knows about his uniquely wholesome habit.
Wholesome video of Mark Scheifele
In the latest episode of the Calgary Flames’ behind-the-scenes YouTube series The Chase, fans got a glimpse of a game between the Flames and Jets from a couple of weeks ago. In the clip, Scheifele high-sticked Flames defenseman Brayden Pachal. Frustrated, Pachal instinctively let out an F-bomb as he skated toward Scheifele, ready to argue.
But the moment he realized who he was about to argue with, he quickly cleaned up his language—switching to “flippin’” instead of dropping another F-bomb. Fans absolutely loved the moment, with the Calgary Flames’ director of content even calling it “one of the best mic’d-up clips of all time.”
