Brady Tkachuk called out for behavior against young rookie

A moment between Brady Tkachuk and Montreal Canadiens’ rookie defenseman Lane Hutson went viral this weekend, as Tkachuk appeared to mock his opponent at one time during the game between the Senators and Canadiens.

The Senators were handed their first loss of the season, and as frustration started to grow in the third period, with the Senators being down 4-1 in the game, Brady Tkachuk seemed to have had enough of Hutson.

Hutson had possession of the puck behind his own net, ready to start a breakout, but deked from right to left before he took off. Brady Tkachuk was waiting on the other side of the net, and appeared to mock his opponent with some fake moves.

The clip of the incident quickly made the rounds on social media, with many slamming Tkachuk for acting that way against a rookie.

Although the result on the scoreboard of course had something to do with Tkachuk’s behavior, but many felt that he crossed the line, especially since he’s the captain of the team.

NHL prospect analyst Patrick Bacon even started questioning Tkachuk’s leadership abilities.

”I’m not saying he’s the primary reason for Ottawa’s failures, but everything I’ve seen of Brady Tkachuk as a leader makes me think he has a loser’s mindset and is not cut out to wear the C,” Bacon said.

”No matter the situation, he should never show such  frustration and lack of composure.”
