Brad Marchand’s first words about Jeremy Swayman situation

It’s definitely tough times for all Bruins fans out there, given the current goalie situation the team has found themself in. They traded star goalie Linus Ullmark this summer without having a new contract in place for Jeremy Swayman, and now, they’re reportedly in a deadlock in their negotiations.

Earlier this week, Bruins president Cam Neely told reporters that the organization had offered Swayman a $64 million contract, but later, Swayman’s agent Lewis Gross would say that there never was an offer that high in their contract talks.

In a strongly worded statement released by the agent, he claimed that he and Ullmark would ’take some time to discuss what’s next,’ and as things stand right now, an agreement between the Bruins and Swayman doesn’t seem close.

But now, Brad Marchand, the team captain of the Bruins, breaks silence on the matter, and he seems confident that a deal will get done between Swayman and the Bruins.

”We all understand the situation that the team and Sway are in,” Marchand told reporters on Tuesday.

”This is part of the game. It’s part of the business. It’s a part that nobody enjoys. Eventually, a deal is going to get done, and everyone’s going to move on and be fine.”

Brad Marchand has always been known for his hot temper and his antics on the ice, but since being named the captain of the Bruins, he’s matured a lot. After his calm and collected comments about Swayman and the current situation regarding him and his new contract, fans praised him a lot.

”True leadership!” one user said on X, formerly Twitter.

”Makes me feel a little better,” another said.

”The only voice of reason in this whole thing,” a third added.

”Our king, he learned from the best,” a fourth added.
