The feud between NHL on TNT analyst Paul Bissonnette and Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand reached new heights on Wednesday, as chirps were flying again during the broadcast. Brad Marchand got the last word, delivering an absolutely devastating roast.
Paul Bissonnette was a great trash-talker as a player, and that hasn’t changed since he became an NHL analyst for TNT. Over the years, he’s asked some hilarious questions of the NHL’s biggest stars and built up quite the feud with Brad Marchand. Marchand has even been awarded as “Mr. TNT” in previous years due to his sharp chirping and quick comebacks, especially against Bissonnette.
Just last week, Marchand delivered a hilarious line, referencing the fact that Biz was in a fight with seven men at a restaurant in Scottsdale:
“I just try to look like those guys that beat the wheels off ya the other night,” said Marchand.
Brad Marchand scored two goals
In the pre-game section of TNT’s broadcast on Wednesday, Bissonnette made a humorous parody of the NHL’s Department of Player Safety, suspending Marchand from the “Mr. TNT” award because of his attacks on BizNasty.
Marchand went on to score two goals in the game against the Blackhawks, and after the game, he couldn’t resist firing back with more chirps.
Marchand’s hilarious quote
Bissonnette asked how it feels to play alongside superstar Pastrnak, who “literally does everything and you do nothing.” Marchand’s response was perfect:
“It feels great. It’s whatever it takes,” Marchand said. “I know you haven’t had that opportunity, but it feels good.
“I don’t mind riding coattails, just like you rode (Ryan) Whit(ney)’s coattails all the way to ‘Spittin’ Chicklets.’”
Marchand continued to mockingly imitate Bissonnette:
“Hey Whit, can you start a podcast with me, please? I need something to do,” Marchand said.
