Niklas Kronwall has made a career of being reliable at the blue line and throwing massive hits towards opposing players. Last night, Nick Cousins got to feel how it’s like to get “Kronwalled”.
After throwing so many crunching hits, the term ‘Kronwalled’ became a household term not only associated with the Swedish defenceman, but huge hits in general. Niklas Kronwall tapped into his old-self last night dropping Nick Cousins.
At 36-years old, Kronwall is nearing the end of his career, but he proved there is still some fuel left in the tank. The Detroit Red Wings veteran had Arizona forward Nick Cousins in his crosshairs.
Crunched to the ice
Cousins had his head down for a short period of time. But Kronwall zeroed-in on the young Canadian and launched him to the ice.
Time may be ticking down on Kronwall’s career, but it’s safe to say the former first-round draft pick can still lay the body down. I’m sure this won’t be the last time this season an opposing player gets Kronwalled.
