Bell Centre goes absolutely crazy after Montreal Canadiens win

The Montreal Canadiens are, as of now, in a playoff spot. And if you need proof of how much that means to the fans in Montreal, just take a look at this. After the Canadiens’ 6-3 win over the Senators on Tuesday, the Bell Centre absolutely erupted when the on-ice reporter asked Josh Anderson about his feelings.

Montreal has always been a city that lives and breathes hockey. But the past few years haven’t been the best for the Canadiens. The team hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2020-21 season, when they reached the Stanley Cup Final before ultimately losing in five games to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Since then, it’s been three straight seasons without postseason action in Montreal. But now, they’ve picked up the scent.

The Eastern Conference Wild Card race is tight, with six teams separated by just four points, all fighting for one spot. On Tuesday, the Canadiens beat the Ottawa Senators 6-3, while the New York Rangers lost 2-1 to the Calgary Flames—putting Montreal in the second and final Wild Card spot. There are still 15 games left to play, but the buzz and excitement in Montreal were undeniable.

Bell Centre erupts after Montreal Canadiens win

Following the win, Josh Anderson was interviewed at center ice and asked about seeing the Canadiens in a playoff position.
“As of now, you guys are in a playoff spot. How cool does that feel?” the on-ice reporter asked.

Anderson didn’t even have time to respond. The moment the words were spoken, the Bell Centre erupted in a deafening standing ovation. The crowd filled the silence for nearly a full minute before Anderson finally got a chance to speak—and he summed it up perfectly.
“It’s pretty amazing,” Anderson said. “Obviously, this is the best crowd you’re going to get in the NHL. We’re so lucky to play in front of you guys each and every night.
“We want to play in the playoffs—we want to play in front of you guys.”

On social media, the video of the Bell Centre’s reaction quickly went viral, with fans everywhere loving the moment.
”Bell Centre is crazy,” one said.
”You absolutely love to see it,” another said.
”I know that playing in our barn isn’t for everyone, but how can you listen to that crowd and not think to yourself that it’s all worth it,” a third added.
