Alternate angle of Sam Reinhart’s goal against the Oilers stuns fans

On Monday in the rematch of the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals, the Florida Panthers topped the Edmonton Oilers once again. Carter Verhaege scored the game-winning goal in the third period, but Sam Reinhart delivered the game’s highlight with an incredible goal that thrilled fans.

The last time the Panthers and Oilers faced off was in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Oilers pulled off one of hockey’s greatest comebacks, but after a 2-1 victory at home, the Panthers hoisted the Stanley Cup.

The Panthers emerged victorious on Monday as well, but this time in a more open and wild affair. Zach Hyman scored the Oilers’ first two goals, tying the game at 1-1 and 2-2. The Oilers then netted two unanswered goals, only for Florida to respond with three.

Kasperi Kapanen scored the Oilers’ fifth goal to tie the game with 12 minutes left in the third period, but Carter Verhaege’s decisive goal at 13:05 secured the win for the Panthers.

Sam Reinhart’s incredible goal

Connor McDavid had three assists for the Oilers, but it wasn’t enough to extend their five-game winning streak. For Florida, it was only their second win of a four-game road trip and their first in three games. Reinhart’s magical goal to give Florida a 5-4 lead was the standout moment.

Reinhart, with possession in the offensive zone, had no angle to shoot. Spotting Stuart Skinner guarding his post, he cleverly shot the puck off Skinner’s helmet, bouncing it into the net. The NHL later released an alternate angle of the goal on their social media accounts, showcasing just how incredible and well-executed it was.
