Alex Ovechkin is continuing doing work for the Capitals. Last night, the Russian superstar scored his 48th goal of the season in the OT loss against the Sabres.
Even though they lost, Ovi showed Kyle Okposo how to dangle– and sent the Sabres forward all they way to the stands.
Ovechkin and David Pasternak are both in the race for the 2019-20 Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy, which is given to the NHL’s top goal scorer
Last night, “Ovi” helped the Caps to re-established a one point lead atop of the Metropolitan Division standings.
In the third period, with the Caps trailing by two, Ovi got the puck after a faceoff win. Kyle Okposo skated towards him in hope of getting the puck. But the Russian star instead dangled him all they way up to the stands, continuing with scoring his 48th goal of the season.
Ovechkin moved into a tie with David Pasternak for most goals this season. And the race for the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy continues.
