Ottawa Senators forward Alex Burrows may have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety tomorrow morning after an altercation between himself and Taylor Hall.
Just past the midway point of the second period, Burrows found and attacked Hall after a scrum in front of the Senators goal. Moments before the tomfoolery began, Hall cleanly dumped Burrows along the boards.
Zack Smith and Hall were tangled in front of Craig Anderson while the net was knocked off. Moments later, Burrows skated over to Hall, shoved his hands in Hall’s face and brought the New Jersey forward to the ice. Burrows continuously threw punches to the grounded Hall and at one point it even looked like Burrows was using his knee to try and get a crack at Hall.
Burrows has been suspended by the NHL before and it would shock me to see Burrows skate away from this incident without a suspension and/or hefty fine. Burrows was handed a cross-checking and roughing penalty for his actions.
