Al MacInnis chirps Sidney Crosby after reaching 1,600-point mark

Sidney Crosby keeps proving to be an elite player despite being 37. Although the Pittsburgh Penguins have missed the playoffs for two consecutive years, Crosby has been a dominant force, recording 94 points throughout the 2023-24 season.

He’s started the season at a similar pace, with one goal and five assists through five games, and earlier this week, he reached an incredible new NHL milestone.

Crosby became just the 10th player in League history to hit 1,600 points, and he was the fifth fastest to do so. He now sits just 39 points shy of Joe Sakic for ninth all-time, and it’s the ultimate proof of what an incredible career Crosby has had.

’The Kid’ has won three Stanley Cups and many individual trophies, and there’s no doubt that he’s one of the best players to ever have played the game.

But when he reached the milestone earlier this week, legendary defenseman Al MacInnis couldn’t help but to crack a joke about Crosby, as they’re both from Nova Scotia.

Al MacInnis shared the NHL’s post about Sid reaching the 1,600-point mark and said, ’Congrats to the 2nd best player to come out of Nova Scotia on 1,600 pts.’

Al MacInnis jokingly applied that he, in fact, is the best player from Nova Scotia, and the hilarious post from MacInnis got plenty of likes on the social media platform.

There’s no doubt that MacInnis remains one of the best players to come out of Nova Scotia, with 340 goals and 1,274 points from the blue line.
