Zdeno Chara held the record for hardest shot set in the NHL All-Star Skills competition back in 2012…until this weekend.
In the AHL All Star Skills competition, Martin Frk set a new record with an insane shot.
During the NHL All Star Skills competition 8 years ago, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara unleashed a 108.8mph slap shot making in a new record.
Shea Weber got close in 2015 with the highest score of 108.5mph. But last night, the Chara record was broken, and it happened in the AHL.
During the AHL All Star Skills competition, Martin Frk of the Ontario Reign recorded a record shot at 109.2mph!
Martin Frk previously played for the Detroit Red Wings organisation but was put on waivers in early 2019.
This season, the czech forward has put up 20 goals and 10 assists in the AHL.
Maybe this laser of a shot will get him another opportunity of playing in the AHL.
