Paul Bissonnette’s one-vs-six brawl outside a restaurant in Scottsdale has been the talk of the hockey world these past couple of weeks. Now, as police footage has been released, one of the suspects’ descriptions of Paul Bissonnette is going viral.
In late November, Paul Bissonnette was having dinner at one of his favorite restaurants, Houston’s, when a group of drunk golfers started becoming physical and aggressive toward the staff and manager.
Bissonnette, one of the most well-liked NHL analysts, stepped in as one of the men put a hand on the manager, and from there, things escalated quickly. The group allegedly began throwing punches at Bissonnette inside the restaurant, and the altercation quickly moved outside to the parking lot.
Paul Bissonnette in massive brawl
A total of six men were arrested in the attack on Paul Bissonnette, and earlier this week, police footage and surveillance videos of the brawl were released by the Scottsdale Police.
In the videos, Paul Bissonnette can be seen taking on the group shirtless despite being heavily outnumbered. At times, Bissonnette was on the ground getting punched and kicked, but he held his own remarkably well, especially given the group’s five-man advantage. Paul Bissonnette’s 911 call was also released earlier this week, and the incredible footage showing him standing his ground and defending the restaurant has gone viral.
But now, another sequence of the footage is making the rounds on social media. As police arrived at the scene, they tried to determine the primary aggressor. They had already reviewed the surveillance footage, heard Paul Bissonnette’s 911 call, and spoken to multiple witnesses, so there was little doubt about who was responsible for the brawl.
Suspect’s funny description of Bissonnette
Still, one of the suspects tried to shift the blame onto Paul Bissonnette, with a hilariously exaggerated description of the NHL analyst.
“If you saw this guy and me fighting in a parking lot, you’d say, ‘He’s going to beat the f—k out of him,’” suspect Henry Mesker said. “He’s not got a lick of fat on him. He’s f—king shirtless, he’s got giant tattoos, built like Dwayne the Rock Johnson.”
Although there’s nothing funny about the restaurant brawl or what happened to Paul Bissonnette, many on social media found the comparison between Bissonnette and The Rock absolutely hilarious.
“Biz gonna feast on this quote for decades,” one user said.
“Biz is about to be absolutely insufferable with that Rock comparison lol. I can’t wait,” another added.
